The most important leadership quality that Paul will bring to this very important elected position as Sheriff of Harris County is his personal faith in God.
Paul understands that it's important to be tough on crime but also that people are looking for a leader who is a Sheriff of the people... and for the people.
Paul can always be trusted to do the right thing and make fair and honest decisions based on his faith, core beliefs and values.
With almost five decades of experience as both an HPD Officer and Harris County Patrol Deputy, "ALL" of Harris County's diverse communities can be assured they will always be treated fairly and with the utmost respect. I am committed to Crime Prevention, Public Safety, Policing.
When I take my oath of office, and I’m privileged to earn your vote and trust.
My commitment and promise to you as the “Peoples Sheriff” of Harris County; is to create a safe and secure community that we “ALL” can be proud of in one of the most culturally diverse Counties in the United States of America.

However, I will always insist that under my leadership the Harris County Sheriff’s Department will always respect the Civil Rights of our citizens strictly adhering to the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution.
Becoming the Sheriff of Harris County, Texas, is a role that involves significant responsibilities in law enforcement and community service, it would entail a variety of actions and initiatives to enhance public safety and community relations.
Here's a list of top ten initiatives I would focus on,

2. Crime Prevention and Reduction:
Implement data-driven strategies to target high-crime areas, focusing on preventative measures and partnerships with local organizations to address root causes of crime.
3. Transparency and Accountability:

Per the Texas Constitution, the Sheriff of every county in Texas shall be the Chief Law Enforcement of that county and his/her Primary Responsibility is to the Care, Custody and Control of the County Jail and the policies and procedures set forth by the Texas Jail Commission.
10.Each of these initiatives would be critical in ensuring that the Sheriff's office effectively serves and protects the diverse communities of Harris County, with an emphasis on justice, community engagement, and continuous improvement.

Hello, Harris County!
I’m Paul Day… and I'm running to be your next Republican sheriff in 2024. As I embark on this journey, I want to share with you a bit of the rich history of Texas sheriffs and how I plan to carry on this proud tradition.
Texas sheriffs have always been more than just law enforcers. They've been community leaders, protectors, and symbols of justice since the early days of our great state. From the vast plains of West Texas to the bustling streets of our cities, sheriffs have stood as pillars of strength and integrity.
My journey into law enforcement was inspired by these very ideals. I’ve spent years dedicating myself to serving and protecting, just like the many honorable sheriffs who have come before me. It’s not just a job; it’s a calling – a commitment to uphold the law, ensure safety, and be a steadfast presence in the community.
When elected as your sheriff, I pledge to carry on these traditions with a focus on modern challenges. We're in an era where innovation, community engagement, and proactive approaches are crucial. Yet, the core values of a Texas sheriff – bravery, fairness, and a deep sense of duty – remain timeless.
I promise to bring a blend of traditional values and modern solutions to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Together, we can make Harris County a safer, more prosperous place for all.
Thank you for your support, and let’s keep Texas strong and safe!
"In the heart of New York, and in Texas, a legacy of law enforcement dedication runs deep in my family. I have two sons in law enforcement one marks his 22nd year of valiant service with the HPD, embodying the spirit of courage and commitment to public safety.
Meanwhile, my other son stands tall in the ranks of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, vigilantly guarding the bustling communities surrounding Buffalo.
Adding to this proud lineage, my daughter-in-law upholds justice as a distinguished Lieutenant with the North Tonawanda Police, a beacon of resilience in the serene suburb of Buffalo.
Echoing through these generations, my father's own tenure as a Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Deputy from 1957 to 1970 in New York resonates as a testament to our family's enduring
devotion to safeguarding our community." I have been and always will be "The Peoples Sheriff."
Like you, God, Family, Country and Security are important to Paul. His goal is to have an effective and efficient law enforcement organization to protect the citizens of Harris County. We've all heard the phrase... "Well, there's a NEW Sheriff in town." Okay...criminals, in 2024 that will be true,
Welcome to our latest YouTube video! Today, we're diving into how Paul Day, with his remarkable 45+ years of law enforcement experience, plans to transform community relations in Harris County's Black and Hispanic areas. Let's explore his visionary approach that stems from his extensive patrol experience with the Houston Police Department (HPD). Paul Day's journey in law enforcement is a testament to his dedication to serving diverse communities. His time as a patrol officer at HPD wasn't just about maintaining law and order; it was an opportunity to understand the heartbeat of the Black and Hispanic neighborhoods. Recognizing the need for cultural sensitivity and mutual respect, Paul, alongside his partner, developed an 8-hour course specifically tailored for officers at the HPD academy. This course wasn't just a training module; it was a bridge between law enforcement and communities, based on the universal principle of the golden rule: "Treat others as you would want to be treated." Paul's initiative highlighted the importance of empathy, understanding, and respect in policing diverse communities. For those in the Black and Hispanic communities of Harris County seeking a significant change and improved relations with law enforcement, the choice is clear. He knows that being sensitive to cultural differences isn't just a policy; it's a practice that needs to be ingrained in every deputy. This approach is the cornerstone of his plan to improve relations and build trust in minority communities.
Every day, deputies and detention officers across our nation courageously risk their lives to safeguard our citizens and those in incarceration. Harris County stands as a prime example of this valor, representing one of the largest and most culturally diverse counties in the United States. This role is undeniably challenging, a fact I understand intimately. Why? Because for over 45 years, I've patrolled the streets, dedicating myself to public safety, both with the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff's Office. During 17 of those years, I served with distinction in the HPD-SWAT team. Throughout my entire career, I balanced additional jobs to meet my family's financial needs. I empathize deeply with the daily struggles you face in your profession, often with limited acknowledgment or appreciation. I've lived it. I want to make one thing abundantly clear: as your Sheriff, I will be unwavering in my support for those who uphold the law and follow proper procedures. I am not just another politician. Unlike some candidates, my experience is rooted in the realities of law enforcement. I comprehend the challenges you endure. When elected, I am committed to advocating tirelessly for fair compensation, reflecting the true value of your service. Higher pay isn't just a goal; it's a promise I intend to keep.
I humbly request your support and your vote.
